Snowflakes caught coming to earth 2009
                              Speak Those Words
All I want for you, is bright and blue
But the happy sky hue only
I wasn't brave enough to speak those words.
But writing them is an easy pleasure.

All I want for you is bright and orange.
Filled with laughter and sounds of joy.
I wasn't brave enough to speak those words.
But I saw this once when you were just a boy, it was a treasure.

All I want for you is bright and yellow too.
Glowing in the warmth of the summer sun.
I wasn't brave enough to speak those words.
But to hold you here too long may only create pressure.

All I want for you is bright and green.
Growing with healthy and expanding wisdom.
I wasn't brave enough to speak those words.
What you have walked out of its true heroism too big to measure.

All I want for you is to never look back into the black.
There is nothing there that you've forgotten.
I wasn't brave enough to speak those words.
What yesterday was, please give no thought, just closure.

All I want is for you to live.
Chasing your next destiny further down the road.
I wasn't brave enough to speak those words.
You'll know when its time to take off that pack and unload your treasure.

All I want for you is a place you call your own.
Living in the safety of a solid sturdy home.
I wasn't brave enough to speak those words.
Mostly I want to say, you're not alone. Together life we'll weather.

A poem for Trevor, during his transition back to us. Just some of the things I thought I couldn't say in person. I was completely broken when I had to ask him to leave our home again in the summer of 2019 and so I put that pain into words.
THERE IS A BALM IN GILEAD
There is a balm in Gilead
A balm that sets men free
This ointment makes a heart once sad
 To love others diligently

A balm that cleanses and restores
Even the heart so finely pricked
It heals the wounds of maternal cords
Which the enemy used to trick

A salve of joy ~ a victorious cloak
That can cover a scar too deep
Restoration for those who were made the joke
 Healing for those who weep

Look up Oh man, who gave up the rights to all your dignity!
There is a balm in Gilead, meant just for you and me
 Don’t lose heart...
 This medicine is offered unconditionally.

No money or contract, or deed well done
Could purchase you a better one,
 It’s perfect and eternal
It is The Christ, God’s risen Son~!

Jeremiah 8:22 Is there no balm in Gilead? Is there no physician there? (yes) Why then is there no recovery for the health of the Daughter of my people!
Jeremiah 46:11 Go up to Gilead and that balm, O virgin, the daughter of Egypt; in vain you will use many medicines; you shall not be cured.
